Artist Statement:
“Mother of Exiles was created in reaction to the unconstitutional and immoral executive orders being carried out by the Trump administration against immigrants and birthright citizens of the United States. She is a reminder that many Americans owe their citizenship to their immigrant ancestry. That all human beings are entitled to inalienable rights – among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And finally, to be American means to fight for liberty and freedom from tyranny.”
